The Fisher Program in Management and Technology (M&T) is an innovative program where students pursue both degrees from the Wharton School and Penn Engineering concurrently. The common goal for all Management & Technology students is the mastery of the technical and managerial skills necessary to define and solve problems in today's complex technological society. Particular attention is directed to the importance and processes of innovation in technology-based industries.
M&T students pursue a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School and either a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) or a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering (BAS) from Penn Engineering. The curriculum builds on the strengths of these prominent professional schools and on respected faculty of Arts and Sciences to provide a true Ivy League experience with a blend of educational and research opportunities.
The majority of students enter the M&T Program as freshmen. A limited number of students can transfer into the Program only at the conclusion of their freshmen year (other students may still pursue a regular dual-degree program between Wharton and Penn Engineering). For further information about the Management and Technology Program, contact Ms. Lea Engle at 3537 Locust Walk, (215) 898-4145, mgtech@seas.upenn.edu.
Huntsman Program in International Studies & Business
http://www.upenn.edu/huntsman
This unique SAS/Wharton program in business, language and the liberal arts develops a global perspective that prepares students to accept responsible positions throughout the world in business, law, diplomacy or journalism. IS&B students are admitted as freshmen and graduate in four years with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the School of Arts and Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School. The 40-course-unit program is both challenging and selective.
IS&B students are required to take three international business courses in addition to the basic Wharton core requirements and the business concentration. They also take courses in international studies and area studies in order to develop the global perspective needed for professional success in the twenty-first century. Applied language training, at an advanced level, along with a semester of study abroad in that area of the world in which the language is spoken, equips graduates to work professionally in their target language. For further information, contact Inge Herman at (215) 573-2345 or inge@wharton.upenn.edu.
Nursing and Health Care Management
This program combines a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School. Through this highly specialized program, students gain experience in patient care as well as in business and managerial areas. A carefully planned integrated academic and clinical program allows highly qualified students to complete this program in four to five years. Graduates are fully prepared to assume clinical practice or administrative positions within health care organizations; to enter into business, especially in the fields of health care management and health care consulting; or to continue for graduate study in any field of health or business. Roy and Diana Vagelos Program in Life Sciences & Management
http://www.upenn.edu/lsm
Offered jointly by Penn's College of Arts & Sciences and the Wharton School, LSM is a dual-degree program that provides undergraduates with both a grounding in the life sciences and a core education in the principles of management. As part of LSM, students pursue an integrated bioscience and business curriculum that leads to the completion of two degrees in four years: a Bachelor of Arts degree in a science major (through the College) and a Bachelor of Science in Economics (through Wharton). In addition to their academic work, LSM students do two summer internships--one science, one business--that add a "real-world" dimension to the education they receive.
The LSM program is suited to students with interests in health care; biomedical, agricultural, and environmental research and development; public policy; and the financial and strategic management of biotech and biopharmaceutical enterprises. Students may apply to enter LSM as incoming freshmen or may transfer into the program at the end of their freshman year at Penn.
