Minors

Students who wish to study a subject of interest in greater depth may choose to pursue a minor in addition to the undergraduate business concentration.  Minors generally require six to eight courses in a particular field of study.  A carefully planned program of study allows a Wharton student to complete a minor within the Wharton curriculum, capitalizing on potential overlap with general education and elective requirements.  Students are encouraged to begin planning as early as possible to ensure the minor can be completed in a timely manner and without taking extra courses.  Please follow the links below for more detailed information on minors.

Students are encouraged to review the minor-requirement information available on these websites and to consult with an advisor in the Wharton Undergraduate Division as well as the department offering the minor before declaring.

Procedure for declaring a Departmental Minor:

Students must complete a Minor Declaration Form and have this signed by the appropriate representative in the department offering the minor.  The signed form must be returned to the Wharton Undergraduate Division advising office, Suite G95, Jon M. Huntsman Hall, for processing.  Once the Minor Declaration Form has been submitted, students are responsible for seeking departmental approval for any changes to courses originally listed on the form and for submitting documented approval of these changes to the Wharton Undergraduate Division.

For additional information about declaring a foreign language or cultural studies minor, please contact Ms. Marianne Lipa at 215-898-0885 or mlipa@wharton.upenn.edu.
