Georgette Chapman Phillips
Vice Dean
Professor Phillips is the Vice Dean of the Wharton Undergraduate Division; a Professor of Real Estate and Legal Studies at Wharton, and a Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. She was also an academic visitor at the London School of Economics. Prior to joining the Penn faculty she was in private law practice in New York and Philadelphia. She was named as the Ballard Research Scholar at the Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center at the Wharton School.
She lectures internationally on topics in commercial real estate (especially the Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities market) and local government law (especially the intersection of local government and private development). Her scholarly work has appeared in, among others, the Berkeley Business Law Journal, the Virginia Journal of Law and Policy, the Emory Law Journal, and the University of Pennsylvania Law Review.
She is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. Professor Phillips received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her B.A. from Bryn Mawr College.
Suzanne Kauffman DePuyt
Managing Director
Suzanne Kauffman DePuyt is the Managing Director of the Wharton Undergraduate Division, and provides leadership for the overall management and strategic direction of the Wharton School’s Undergraduate Division. Sue works with the marketing and communication initiatives, recruitment and enrollment management; technology; and administrative services (financial, operations, data management) for the division. Her professional interests include the development of technology to enhance learning and academic support services. She earned a BS in Business Administration with minors in Economics and Psychology in the honors program from Arcadia University, and her MBA with a concentration in Management from Rider University.
Academic Advisors
Scott Romeika
Director of Academic Affairs and Advising
Scott Romeika is Director of Academic Affairs and Advising in the Wharton Undergraduate Division. He joined the Wharton advising team in 2003. Scott not only manages undergraduate advising services, but also plays an active role in the development of interschool initiatives, works to build and strengthen international opportunities for our students, and represents the Wharton School on a number of university committees. Scott provides support and guidance to the faculty on academic programs and policies and is responsible for their implementation and oversight.
Scott received his BA in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, and his M.A. and Psy.D. (Doctor of Psychology) from Widener University. He has completed internships in clinical psychology, college counseling, and school psychology settings. Outside the office, Scott enjoys running (scenic and muddy trails are best), music, trivia, baseball (go Phillies!), and Scrabble. He lives in University City with his wife and his Portuguese Water Dog Sailor. He is an adjunct instructor at Arcadia University, where he teaches graduate courses in group dynamics and human relations in education.
Melissa Hagan
Senior Associate Director
In addition to advising Wharton undergraduate students in general, Melissa Hagan serves as the primary advising contact for students who are interested in submatriculation into the Penn Law program or who are considering study abroad in Asia. She also oversees the leave of absence process and serves as a liaison to the Office of International Programs’ International Student & Scholar Services Division, working closely with Wharton international students.
Melissa earned a BA in Psychology from Arcadia University in 1999 and a M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from the University of Vermont in 2001. When she’s not advising students, you can find her training for a half-marathon and spending time with her dog, Sammi.
Marianne Lipa
Associate Director
Marianne Lipa works with students in coordinated dual-degree programs and also serves on the Internal Transfer/Dual Degree Committee. She is the liaison to the Office of International Programs and serves as the contact person for study abroad programs in Europe. She also advises students interested in submatriculation into the MBA program at Wharton.
Marianne earned her M.S.Ed. in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education in 2004. She received her BA, cum laude, in Romance Languages and History, with a minor in Latin American studies, from Bowdoin College in 2001; she is fluent in French, Spanish, and Italian. She also attended the Business Bridge Certificate Program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. She enjoys traveling extensively both domestically and internationally and is an avid skier. Also, Marianne is the current President of the Bowdoin Alumni Club of the Greater Philadelphia area.
LaMoy Morgan Clarke
Associate Director
LaMoy Morgan Clarke serves as the contact for study abroad programs in the Americas and advisor to the Wharton Ambassadors. She also works with external transfer students, sits on the internal transfer/dual degree committee, and manages undergraduate student recruitment and marketing initiatives.
Prior to joining the Wharton Undergraduate Division, LaMoy earned her M.S.Ed. in Higher Education Management in May 2007 from the Graduate School of Education at Penn. A Philly native by way of Jamaica, she is a graduate of the Philadelphia High School for Girls and a 2002 alumna of Bryn Mawr College where she earned a B.A. in Sociology. In her spare time, she enjoys watching HGTV, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
Shilpa Motwani
Associate Director
Shilpa Motwani primarily advises incoming freshmen and students studying abroad in Australia and New Zealand. She serves as the liaison to the Weingarten Learning Resource Center, Counseling and Psychological Services, and the Tutoring Center.
Shilpa earned her BA in Psychology in 2003 and a M. Ed. in Educational Psychology in 2007 from The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining the Wharton Undergraduate Division, she worked for the Business Honors Program at The University of Texas at Austin. In her spare time, Shilpa enjoys reading and watching movies.
Megan Zahler
Associate Director
Megan Zahler earned her B.A. in English from The College of New Jersey, and an M.S.Ed. in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Wharton, Megan coordinated career services for medical students at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is currently pursuing her Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from Widener University, and she enjoys running, reading, and NPR.

Martin A. Asher
Director of Research and Scholars Programs,
Adjunct Professor of Finance
Martin Asher received an MA and PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Economics from Stanford University. In addition to his role as Director of Research and Scholars Programs in The Wharton School’s Undergraduate Division, Dr. Asher is Adjunct Professor of Finance and teaches courses in Economics to Wharton undergraduate and graduate students. He has served simultaneously as Associate Director of the Institute for Law and Economics at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Lecturer in Penn’s Economics Department, and Vice President and Principal of Econsult Corporation. Dr. Asher also has held teaching positions in the Economics Departments at Swarthmore College, Bryn Mawr College, and Villanova University, where he received tenure in 1991. His previous experience includes positions at Joel Popkin and Company, the Brookings Institution, the United States Senate Committee on the Budget, and the President’s Council of Economic Advisers. Dr. Asher received the 2000, 2002, and 2005 William G. Whitney Award for Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching in the Associated Faculty and the 2000 Kravis Prize for Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching in Economics in the Department of Economics. His research interests have been primarily in the areas of income distribution, gender and race wage differentials, law and economics, and antitrust. He has served as an expert economic witness in federal and state court antitrust and discrimination cases..

Anne M. Greenhalgh
Director of Undergraduate Leadership Programs
Adjunct Professor of Management
Anne M. Greenhalgh is Director of the Undergraduate Leadership Program and Adjunct Professor of Management. She is a member of the Vice Dean’s senior management team and chiefly responsible for the School’s foundation course, Management 100, Leadership and Communication in Groups. She also oversees several of the Division’s summer programs: Leadership, Education, and Development (LEAD), Leadership in the Business World (LBW), and the Summer Institute in Business and Technology (SIBT). Anne Greenhalgh is a repeat winner of the William G. Whitney Teaching Award for Associated Faculty, and she was voted the Best Lecturer in the Social Sciences by the entire student body at the University of Pennsylvania in 2005. In addition to fulfilling her administrative and teaching responsibilities, Anne has served as consultant to a number of academic institutions and corporations, including City University, London and Banc of America. Moreover, Anne’s research projects reflect her dedication to teaching, leadership, and management education. Her most recent publication appeared in Business Communication Quarterly (2008): Communicating Across the Curriculum in an Undergraduate Business Program: Management 100, Leadership and Communication in Groups.
Helene Elting
Associate Director
Helene Elting is an Associate Director of the Undergraduate Leadership Program and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Management. She is also Director of Wharton’s summer institute, Leadership in the Business World Program as well as Director of Wharton’s UG Communication Initiative. Her field of expertise is workplace diversity. Her scholarly research focuses on gender, power, and leadership; leadership and voice; and work/life integration. Her current research project focuses on intergenerational differences towards work/life values. She has also consulted with the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania and the Tenet Health Care System on mentoring, retention, promotion of women in academic medicine. Her recent publication includes a chapter on gender and voice in Workplace Diversity and Impact Upon Performance. She teaches Management 100, Leadership and Communication in Groups and has taught undergraduate and MBA courses on Diversity Management. She is also an academic fellow in the Philadelphia Association for Psychoanalysis. Dr. Elting received her doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.
Christopher I. Maxwell
Associate Director
Chris Maxwell is Associate Director, Undergraduate Leadership Program; Director, LEAD Program at Wharton; and Adjunct Associate Professor of Management. Chris also coordinates Wharton Leadership Ventures for the Undergraduate Division, and focuses on developing student leadership capacities through local, national, and international adventure programs. He earned a PhD in Public Administration from Penn State and a Master of Government Administration from the Fels Center of Government at the University of Pennsylvania. He previously served as Executive Vice President of a community teaching hospital, Vice President of a healthcare information and research services firm, and as a consultant to mental health organizations. Dr. Maxwell teaches Management 100, Leadership and Communication in Groups at Wharton.
Wharton Life
Lee Kramer
Director of Student Life
Lee Kramer is the Director of Student Life of the Wharton Undergraduate Division. He serves as the advisor to the Wharton Council, the umbrella organization that oversees over forty Wharton undergraduate clubs and conferences. Lee also oversees the cohort program and manages New Student Orientation, Family Weekend, Graduation and programs connecting current students to Wharton alumni. Lee also works closely with the Career Services staff to provide career discovery and exploration opportunities for Wharton undergraduates. In addition, he provides academic advising and serves as the Athletic Eligibility Officer for Wharton. Lee also is the staff director of the Wharton International Program, a 10-day global immersion course. Lee received his BA in History from Emory University and his MBA from Drexel University.
Kim Hein
Associate Director
Kim Hein is the Associate Director for the Wharton Undergraduate Division and joined the team in 2006. She plans division-wide events such as Graduation and Family Weekend. She also develops and implements other student life activities, including the cohort program, and assists in advising Wharton student clubs. Kim earned a BA in Spanish and Linguistics from Syracuse University and a Masters in Governmental Administration with a focus in Nonprofit Administration from the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining the Wharton Undergraduate Division, Kim worked at the Huntsman Program in International Studies & Business at Penn as well as in events and program services at the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Boston, MA.
