Freshman advance registration begins on Monday, June 25th and runs through Friday, July 27th; however, we advise you to complete your advance registration no later than Friday, July 13th. This will allow you to get the personalized assistance you need with plenty of time to consider your choices well before the deadline.
Advance registration means that you are requesting your fall semester courses. The actual enrollment takes place in August when the Office of the University Registrar will electronically process requests for all students at the same time. Therefore, you can continue to modify your course selection during advance registration (i.e., from June 25 through July 27) because no enrollments are actually being made during this request period.
In early August, you will receive by mail the courses in which you are officially enrolled. You may also review your enrollments on Penn InTouch. If you did not get a course you requested or if you would like to make any changes to your schedule, this can be done during the Course Selection Period. The Course Selection Period begins on Tuesday, August 7th. During this period you are able to directly enroll in courses, unlike the advance registration period during which time you are only requesting courses. Advisors can answer questions about courses which you may not be able to add because they are closed (i.e., class size is at the maximum).
The first and most important step in beginning the advance registration process is making sure you know which courses you should take. Please read and study your 2007-2008 Wharton Undergraduate Program Student Handbook and review the materials sent to you in your freshman registration packet. The handbook and the freshman packet answer many of your questions and contain information that you need to know about course selection, the registration process, degree requirements, academic options, and advising and student services. |
