Freshman Cohort

Freshman Cohort Experience

The Wharton freshman class is divided each year into nine cohorts named after international currency: Dinar, Dollar, Euro, Peso, Rand, Rupee, Shekel, Yen and Yuan. Each cohort consists of approximately sixty students.  The freshmen cohorts take two courses together (MGMT 100 in the fall semester and BPUB 250 in the spring semester).  In addition to the academic component, the cohorts participate in team-oriented activities, which help to create a tighter community and foster a strong sense of Wharton pride.  Each freshmen cohort is assigned a cohort director.  This is a Wharton sophomore in the same cohort who is committed to helping students enhance their co-curricular experience as well as provide support as students transition to a new environment.
